JEREMY SCHURKE

DIRECTOR OF MIRROR LABS

I believe that men in their 20s and 30s today are in a desperate state. They are trying to become independent adults as they navigate foundational life milestones of career, marriage and parenting. Across the board, most will admit they are drowning in these new responsibilities in isolation. They need help. To have this opportunity to tackle difficult questions, develop new ideas, and move guys into deeper relationships is really exciting! Over the past several years, my interests have evolved around exploring how young guys can better engage their spiritual pilgrimages and participate in deep community. I am particularly interested in those who are disenchanted, disenfranchised, and disengaged from the traditional church. I believe there is no deeper, spiritual community than the church... at least on paper—biblical paper. There are also many problems with the church as we know it. (Surprise!) And yet, I still believe humans flourish most when following Jesus, striving to loving one another, and creatively building out God's Kingdom here on Earth. Previously, I have worked with LSU’s students and athletic department, as a missionary in Haiti, and church planting in the inner-city of Jacksonville, Florida. I am a married millennial with my wife, Jenn, and we are raising our four children: Effi, Wolfgang, Link, and Ender.
